LG Q7A is the watered down version of the LG Q7 midrange smartphone we reviewed earlier. The Q7A has the same powerful audio features just like the Q7, however, unlike the Plus version, there’s no Quad DACs.
Nonetheless, there’s Hi-Fi audio with DTS:X 3D Surround Sound. The specs also scream “midrange” as well, there’s 3GB of RAM, 32GB storage and an octa-core processor. Without further ado, meet the LG Q7A.
The Q7A exudes the same Metallic body like its siblings, it has MIL-STD-810G-compliant with IP68 certifications. This means you can go swimming with the phone, and take selfies underwater. However, it shouldn’t be underwater for more than 30 minutes though.
So obviously, the Q7 devices come with the same bodily features as well. You can’t tear them apart just by looking at their body. As expected, the Q7A measures 8.4 mm in thickness and weighs 145g as well, this makes it easy to handle with just one hand. It’s available in Aurora Black, Moroccan Blue and Lavender Violet colors.
It comes with no notch, which is perfect for those that isn’t into the trending notched screen. The screen dishes out the normal 18:9 aspect ratio, confirming it’s major reduction in bezels. Even though the top and bottom bezel is pretty much still visible.
The 5.5-inch FHD+ IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen boasts of 1080 x 2160 pixels in resolution and 439 pixel per inch density. The screen displays stunning visuals with a 2.5D glass on top, as it stretches up to 78.3% screen-to-body ratio.
Working underneath is the Snapdragon 450 chip from Qualcomm with an Octa-Core processor and 64-bit CPU architecture. The 8-Cores of processor here runs at a fast speed of 1.8GHz with 14nm process technology. The Adreno 506 graphics processor from Qualcomm controls graphics.
For light midrange users, 3GB RAM space is available to help multitask smoothly through your apps. It has a memory speed of 933MHz as well, while the storage space stands at 32GB strong, you can easily upgrade up to 400GB anytime. The LG Q7A runs on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box.
The 13MP rear shooter has f/2.0 aperture and captures clear images. The camera packs lots of features to assist in taking photographs, there’s phase detection autofocus, touch focus, face detection, panorama and a LED flash for low light shots. Shoot videos of 1080p@30fps, while the 5MP selfie camera has a 100° super wide angle lens for group selfies.
Powering the LG Q7A is a 3000mAh non-removable Li-Po battery with fast charging technology. With the fast charging feature, charging the battery from 0% to 100% shouldn’t take up to 1.3 hours.
